Third Federal high yield savings account pays a money market rate

Third Federal Savings & Loan offers high yield savings account that pays a money market rate. You can open the account either as  a regular savings account or as an IRA account.

There is no monthly fees to open the account and there is no limit as to the number of monthly transactions. You only need $10 to open. However to obtain the APY you must meet the required minimum balance. Rates vary by location.

For example, Tier 3 Ohio high yield saving account rate which took effect June 27, 2009 is 1.40%APY. The account only requires $10 minimum amount to open but you must have a balance of $25,000 to obtain the APY.

Third Federal Savings & Loan Tier 3 high yield savings rate is down by 0.11%. As of Augut 30, 2009, Tier 3 high yield savings rate is 1.29% or 1.30%APY.
