Citibank offers different savings account products and one of these is the Citibank e-Savings Account. Unlike Citibank’s Ultimate Savings Account, Citibank e-Savings Account requires that you must have a checking account in an eligible relationship package or you can open one online when you apply for e-Savings. But like its Ultimate Savings Account, the e-Savings account also requires $100 minimum deposit and it is available online or by phone. You can also qualify for Thank You Points.
Additional perks include free online statements and you can transfer money from your accounts at other financial firms into your e-Savings Account using Citibank’s Free Inter Institution Transfers. It can also help you avoid bouncing checks if you apply for Safety Check overdraft protection but there is a monthly fee for this.
The e-Savings APY is accurate as of 8/14/09 but subject to change without notice. Citibank deposits are FDIC insured so money should be safe.
